Going
with the Flow - Album Reviews
It isn't every day
that you hear music that lifts your spirits and makes you want
to sing, or fly, or at the very least crack a big smile".

Going with the Flow is highly inspiring and drenched in freedom. Byron Shire News - Jan 2006
The
snappy production
and clear sounds make the music very easy listening. The relaxing
melodies and emotive guitar riffs set the scene nicely and take you
into their world. Funky guitars, jazzy drums, fretless bass and fresh
sounding vocals. The mood is clear on this CD and it is relax, and as
the title says, you will be going with the flow. Definitely worth a
listen! Undertow

Summer Long Soundtrack Review
"All Summer Long"
Soundtrack - Reviewed by Pacific Longboarder Magazine - 2004
A gem of a soundtrack that
deftly weaves its musical tracks from funk, to remixes, through to
soulful guitar instrumentals.
A 12 track album, versatility is its strength - due to two truly
talented musicians, Fliss & Birdy, who reside on the
surf-saturated NSW North Coast. Undeniably drawing influences from the
ocean, they manage to stay away from the "walking the plank" or
"shooting the curl" sort of stuff and focus on the natural forces at
hand.
Upbeat without being "boppy"
and soulful without being "soppy", its perfect for a road trip - cruisy
with a dash of R&B. Naturally it gels well with the movie, but
its more than capable of standing on its own. A few of the standout
tracks among many are "Oceanheart", an observation of the ocean and its
waves, a brilliant remix of Sly and the Family Stone's "Dance to the
Music" (renamed "Mystic") which will blow your thongs off, plus "Glad
to be Alive" which sums up the joyfull simplicities of life.
The "All Summer Long" CD was
reviewed in the Brisbane Courier Mail as "The best surf soundtrack
since Morning of the Earth" - Big call, but not without merit - the
songs on this little disc will appeal to a wide audience.

Fliss Reviews
Sincerity.
That's the leading attribute of Fliss's music. The reassuring presence
of a song like "Sister" shines, the simplicity of its sentiments
grounded by the tenderness of the arrangement.

Sister
With
the easy pace set by finger-picked guitar, Fliss lends a sweetly
sincere vocals to "Sister". Framed with double vocals and double
violins, this song taps classic songwriting and arranging values while
offering its own fresh approach.

I listened to this piece 3 times, and I'm still listening. Pardon me
for saying this, but really, I am just at bay how to go about this
review. This song is just absolutely wonderful. The guitar and violin
accompaniment just adds so much flavour to this melancholically
beautiful tune, that I don't know what else to say. The changes and the
breaks in some places were top notch as well.
Lastly, and certainly the most worth of mention in this song is your
vocal style. The way you choose to throw your words, play around with
the different textures of vocal chords and notes, it is just highly
impressive. Are you signed? The whole compostion is worthy of more and
more listens, as this is very, very matured and good indeed. Thanks for
giving me the pleasure of hearing and reviewing it.
